About this listen

Welcome to today’s episode, where we journey into the heart of one of the world’s most storied pilgrimages—The Camino de Santiago, also known as The Way of St. James. For centuries, pilgrims have walked from various points across England and Europe, all making their way to a single sacred destination: the Church of St. James in Santiago de Compostela, Spain.

But did you know that the Camino now extends beyond Europe? In 2018, a remarkable milestone was reached when the Camino de San Antonio Missions in Texas became the first formally recognized Camino route outside of Europe. This honor connects the historic San Antonio Missions and San Fernando Cathedral to the wider spiritual path of El Camino de Santiago.

Pilgrims can now walk this sacred route through San Antonio, earning 30 kilometers toward their official pilgrimage. From there, the journey continues in Ferrol, Spain, with a final 70 kilometers to complete the required 100 km for the Compostela certificate.

Stay with us as we explore the significance of this sacred path, how you can take part, and what it means to be a modern pilgrim on a timeless journey. Ready to walk the Way? Let’s begin.
