About this listen
On August 24th, 2025, Moving Day at the Tour Championship saw a complete leaderboard overhaul, with Patrick Cantlay and Tommy Fleetwood grabbing a share of the lead heading into the final round.
- Patrick Cantlay and Tommy Fleetwood share the lead after taking wildly different paths. Cantlay was a silent assassin, birdieing four of his last five, while Fleetwood survived a late double bogey with incredible mental fortitude to stay tied.
- Fleetwood: "Tomorrow might be my time, it might not, but I’ll still have a great time doing it."
- Cantlay credited his bogey-free 64 to driving accuracy and work with new putting coach Phil Kenyon, deflecting all Ryder Cup talk.
- U.S. Ryder Cup Captain Keegan Bradley fired the round of the day, a seven-under 63, to vault into solo fourth. He now faces the immense pressure of trying to win while also considering picking himself for the team.
- Bradley on the unique situation: "It's a pretty strange thing to pick yourself."
- He shared a cool anecdote about being inspired by seeing Arnold Palmer's 1963 Ryder Cup bag at the course.
- Don't count out Scottie Scheffler, who sits just four shots back despite a day of immense frustration on the greens. His ball-striking was elite, but his putter struggles were visible, highlighted by a toss on the 16th green.
- Scheffler: "Felt like another frustrating day."
- Despite the putting woes, his four-under 66 keeps him within striking distance of the FedExCup title.
Russell Henley drops from co-leader to solo third • Rory McIlroy & Cameron Young fade with 71s • Final round set for a dramatic finish.
