現在85歳の僕のメンター的な方がいらっしゃいます。この先生は東京の山手で育ちましたが、学友であった故古今亭志ん朝さんに誘われて下町である向島のご自宅に伺った事があったそうです。この時初めて隅田川の「川向こう」に行ったんだそうですが、そこでご馳走になったのが、これまた初めて食べたという下町の名物である「どじょう」。関東大震災でも崩れずに隅田川の人の行き来を支えた「新大橋」も現在、明治村に移築されています。
