About this listen

EP 181 Slam Dunk 2025 Special EP181 is Setting The Tone’s Slam Dunk Special, the episode is broken down into my thoughts on this year’s event and why you should consider attending Slam Dunk in 2026 As well brining you interviews from Defects, Grey Wind and New Found Glory. Slam Dunk presented its 19th addition of what has become somewhat of a tradition for fans of alternative music, Slam Dunk currently takes place the last bank holiday in May across two separate days in the south and the north of the uk. With 5 stages jam packed full of your different artists and bands across the attentive scene there really is something that will appeal to Somone’s musical tastebuds For those who may not be as familiar with the festival lets drill down, to give you an idea of what you can expect to see, this year’s line-up had 58 bands. four headliners A Day to remember making their first appearance playing on main stage west, Electric callboy on main stage east legends Alkaline trio closing the monster energy stage and Hot milk over on the kerrang stage. Everything from bands/artists making their first to bands making their 11th And Legends like New Found Glory, Zebrahead, Alkaline Trio. To festival debuts for grew wind as I have already stated I feel Slam Dunk offers something for everyone’s taste. When does the festival start well if you would like make a day out of it then gates open at 11am and first bands usually start about 40 mins after gates open, so get to the festival early. Helpful tips Parking onsite, make sure you buy your parking in advance as traditionally they are not on sale on the day of the festival Transport methods Train-check with National Rail Coach packages can be purchase from see tickets in advance So why should you go, well simply this it’s a day festival that is very competitive in price and what it offers. people also have the chance to see as many bands in one day and not worry that they have to pick a day out of say a 3-day festival, so if anyone does struggle with getting to festivals and shows Slam dunk may just be the event for you. As well as being the first alternative festival to kick off the summer it’s a great chance to catch up with friends and start the summer. This is a festival that started from humble beginnings and has continued to grow year and year out and just get better and better. So, what is holding you back and when should you if you have not already made your appearance at the festival well personally, I think next year is as good as any time. 2026 marks the festival 20th Year which is something that no doubt the organisers and people connected with the festival are aware of and are no doubt working on something very special There are no announcements as to who what the weekend will like yet, but if I had to take an educated guess, I would say expect to see some names from the very early days of the festival and to some festival favourites to some new names It’s going to be a very exciting 12 months to see how slam dunk marks their 20th and how they plan to do it because speaking only on the Hatfield site I think there is a little bit of space to play around with different ideas and layouts, I would expect some great merchandise and a very special weekend. As well as the uk addition Slam dunk has expanded into Europe which offers fans from Europe and even those who may wish to go to Europe the chance to catch slightly different lineups to the UK Thank you, Slam Dunk and Alex, for the invite.
