About this listen

Episode Summary: We were hiking along an asphalt desert, quite literally...it was desert and farmland in Oregon, but we were walking the highway with no shoulder. Our thighs, shins, and feet were riddled with painful red splotches-heat rash. But thank goodness we had angels along the way, people going out of their way to offer us water, air conditioning, and shelter. We circumvented the Lions head closure with a road walk and rewarded ourselves with the famous Timberline Lodge buffer (every hiker’s dream). Our week 22 of the PCT was jam-packed, and concludes with a pretty stunning hiking speckled with waterfalls, and new hiker friends as we arrive at Cascade Locks. Cascade Locks signifies the end of Oregon (NOBO) and the beginning of the last state of the PCT, Washington. Oh, and Yeti was too drunk to say hello to his then PCT hero, and we stayed in an asylum converted to a hotel. We wrap with an environmental corner segment discussing the importance of ground truthing information both about our environment, and beyond. A HUGE thanks to Symbiosis Gear for sponsoring this episode!
