Being anywhere other than here and now means that you're missing your life.
Thinking that you need to go back to the past to figure out how you've got to where you are or who you are (or could be) is, therefore, a waste of your time.
Or much, much worse - revisiting the past amounts to reliving the past and enabling your past weigh more heavily on your present.
The past is a foreign country and you do not want to go there.
So is the future! People think that they need to plan the future. But planning involves thinking and thinking inevitably leads to an idea of the future that will fall far short of what it might be were you to simply turn up to the here and now.
We create our lives in the moment. If we're thinking, we create a shabby version and put up with it, when, of course, we shouldn't.
We create our lives in the moment. If we're present - and, as a result, not thinking, we experience peace of mind and the ability to just do the right thing and we create a platform for the nows to come, starting with the next one.
