Doctrine and Covenants 88, often referred to as the "Olive Leaf," was given to Joseph Smith in December 1832 and January 1833. It came during a time when the early Church was facing challenges and needed guidance on how to establish Zion and prepare for the Second Coming of Christ. The revelation provides profound insights into the nature of light and truth, the importance of education, and the establishment of the School of the Prophets. It emphasizes the need for spiritual and temporal preparation, encouraging members to seek learning by study and faith, and to live in harmony with the laws of God to receive His blessings.
