About this listen

The new Premiership campaign is officially upon us – so the boys are back with the first Monday Twa Teams, One Street.

Sadly, the new campaign enthusiasm didn’t last long at Dens Park, with Dundee suffering an underwhelming 2-1 defeat against Hibs that our man George Cran labelled ‘dismal’.

We discuss the need for new signings – at least six, according to boss Steven Pressley – and the Dee’s passive approach that barely laid a glove on the Hibees.

On the bright side, there’s praise for the shape of the team and one young defender is highlighted for plaudits. But should Billy Koumetio line up against Rangers?

Across the road, rest and recovery is the order of the day after Dundee United played out a breathless 2-2 draw against Falkirk – just 48 hours after touching down from Conference League duty in Luxembourg.

A creditable result given a remarkable injury list so early in the campaign, and one Terrors midfielder stood out as runaway man of the match.

After switching to a 4-3-3 against the Bairns, how will Jim Goodwin seek to tackle Rapid Vienna – and dare United dream of a famous European night?

Dundee United correspondent Alan Temple is joined by Dundee counterpart George Cran and Graeme Finnan.
