I wish you knew that when I cry after a negative test, it’s not because I’m giving up—it’s because I need a minute to mourn.
I wish you knew that I don’t always need a solution. I just need you to say, “This sucks, and I’m here.”
I wish you knew that I still want to feel close. That sex has started to feel like a job, and I hate that, but it doesn’t mean I’ve stopped needing you.
I wish you knew that I’m grieving things I haven’t even lost yet. Time. Hope. Control.
