In the Whitney Ranch neighborhood, officers responded to a shooting late in the evening on April 9. The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect, described as a male in his mid-20s, approximately 6 feet tall with short dark hair and wearing a gray hoodie, fled the scene on foot. Police are seeking public assistance in identifying this individual. The case number for this incident is 2504090342.
On the west side, near Lake Mead Parkway and Boulder Highway, there was an alleged armed robbery at a convenience store in the early morning hours of April 10. The suspect displayed a weapon and demanded cash before fleeing in a dark sedan. No injuries were reported, and the case remains under investigation.
Officers responded to a series of vehicle burglaries around the Anthem Highlands community during the late-night hours of April 11 and 12. Suspects allegedly broke several car windows and removed personal items. Investigators are reviewing security footage and the cases remain open.
On April 13, in the area of Stephanie Street and American Pacific Drive, there was an arrest made after an alleged assault following a dispute in a shopping center parking lot. The suspect was taken into custody without incident.
No fatalities were reported in traffic-related incidents. There was a notable increase in property crimes, especially burglaries and vehicle break-ins, primarily in residential neighborhoods and retail parking lots. Police encourage residents to secure homes and vehicles and to report suspicious activity.
