With its exploration of advent, the incarnation, the life of Jesus, the death of Jesus, the resurrection of Jesus, and the second coming of Jesus, it lends itself to being a very useful song for the church in many different service contexts. Quite frankly, it's hard to think any good reason to NOT be singing it in your local congregations.
