About this listen
In this episode, we will talk to the Director of the St. Alphonsus Palliative Care Program, Dr. Wesley Jones, and Intensive Care Unit Doctor, Dr. Rory Ramsey, about their experiences working with the dying. We will discuss the challenges and rewards of such a position and how they find joy in their work. Then, we will go into the stages of grief, and how patients and loved ones react to the process of death. In this section, we will seek to understand if there are any messages that the dying give us. Next, we discuss the ethics around dying, and when it is time to take a person off life support. Additionally, we discuss religious and cross-cultural experiences of dying, and how Dr. Jones and Ramsey manage these situations. Finally, we talk about any interesting or inspiring cases these doctors have seen in their line of work.
