Fantastic exploration of opposing ideas

I stumbled on this entirely by chance this morning while looking for something else and thought I'd give it a go; I'm so glad I did.

It was refreshing to have opposing ideas presented compellingly
and without resorting to threats and violence. I highly respect the presenter's approach to interrogating ideas not people and her questions to help guide her truth seeking path were wise and valuable. The only lost star was because the opening (and closing I think) music was too loud compared with the podcast itself and hurt my ears enough that I needed to keep fiddling with the volume each episode. Not a massive deal, just a bit annoying.
Thanks to everyone involved and especially to Jo for allowing her vulnerability to be broadcast as well as for showing her authenticity and empathy with people on other sides of the conversation.

We should all listen to this and have a good think about the way in which we interact with each other.

This was more a story if freedom of speech without hatred being hurled back. Tolerance and understanding of other’s views. It was great and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

A thought -provoking read.

I really valued the balanced approach taken here. There was an overarching theme of our right to freedom of speech and equality and once again I came away from it feeling admiration and utter respect for Jo Rowling’s integrity and bravery. She really does inspire me to be more tolerant and stand up for those fundamental rights, just as her characters did in the Potter books.

Inspirational and informative

Megan gets to the heart of JK’s concerns about Gender Ideology. Shero’s both of them to instil the inspiration to stand up and learn how to articulate your beliefs. Pluralism rocks!

Binge listening now for the second time

This is not about JK Rowling - it’s exploitation and dialogue is about you, about me and about us. It’s holding a mirror up at us all - our society - and asking us to think, reflect before speaking or shouting our rage or our views. It’s not saying don’t have a view or be passionate about it. It’s simply asking us to reconsider our extremist approaches or expressions of our views, so that we can have freedom of thought without oppression.

Highly recommend. I’m just about to re-start listening to embed the gentle, considerate yet deep language that is used by the interviewer to explore and articulate themes, and I appreciated Rowling’s views and their expression and also the other guests. Thank you all.
