Wilks is well-liked and well-traveled, having been the rare NFL head coach sacked after just one season in Arizona. In the six years since his surprising dismissal from the desert, he has assisted for the Cleveland Browns, Carolina Panthers, and was the DC for the NFC champion San Francisco 49ers just two seasons ago.
