About this listen
It’s a solo episode this week as Tyler breaks down everything happening with the A’s as the 2025 season enters its final month. The focus is on the opener against Seattle, where 22-year-old right-hander Luis Morales impressed in just his fourth MLB game (third career start), tossing six innings of two-hit, one-run baseball with six strikeouts and no walks. Morales, the A’s No. 3 prospect, has rocketed through the system since signing out of Cuba in 2023 and looks like a major piece of the future.
At the plate, Brent Rooker hit his 26th home run of the year in the first inning, while Jacob Wilson returned from injury, hitting fifth in the order and driving in a run. Nick Kurtz batted leadoff, continuing his strong rookie season.
With two more games against the Mariners on the road before hosting the Tigers in Sacramento, Tyler also discusses what’s left to watch for in the final month and whether this season can still be viewed as progress for the A’s despite the standings. As always, he closes with the Favorite A’s Memory segment.
