About this listen

Jared and Shira Simmons are the owners and founders of Platform Ready Powerlifting and The Platform A/O nonprofit which works to provide adaptive athletes with scholarship opportunities to compete in the world of strength sports.

On the heels of the World's first Para Powerlifting Nationals hosted by USPC, we discuss both the challenges and opportunities adaptive lifters face in today's landscape.

The USPC Para Nationals were a massive success, and gave adaptive lifters an opportunity to perform on the platform and compete against other lifters.

Jared and Shira are looking to build opportunities for these lifters in other federations, and to continue to grow the sport of Powerlifting.
