Importance Of Border road organisation in building India’s life line through building of strong roads and infrastructure in the tough border areas of the country. As per some online reports BRO has constructed over 55,000 kilometres (34,000 mi) of roads, over 450 permanent bridges with a total length of over 44,000 metres (27 mi) length and 19 airfields in strategic locations.
Border Roads Organisation (BRO) is a statutory body under the ownership of Ministry of Defence, Government of India. Indian Army's Corps of Engineers are the people behind running of this organisation which make us proud and safe at the same time. As per some online sources BRO was formed on 7 May 1960 to secure India's borders and develop infrastructure in remote areas of the north and north-east states of the country. Further as per some reports Bro infrastructure operations is said to be in 19 states and three union territories and neighbouring countries such as Afghanistan, Bhutan, Myanmar, Tajikistan and SriLanka.Check out my latest episode!
