  • Gulls Are Birds Too
    Jun 3 2025

That's right today we are listening to the somewhat grating sounds of SeaGulls, aka Gulls. Most of my information came from these two blog posts:

    https://earbirding.com/blog/archives/4538

    https://earbirding.com/blog/archives/3994

We divide gulls into four groups, based on their long calls: High Yelpers represented by the Herring Gull (6:30), Low yelpers represented by California Gulls (7:45) Slow Squealers represented by the Ring-Billed gull (9:02) and Nasal represented by Franklin's Gull (10:30).

This is the most intimidating episode I’ve attempted to make to date. So please remember I’m not an expert birder i put these episodes together to help me learn I which means I’m still learning. Today we are going to tackle one of the harder bird sound identification challenges there is. Today we’re talking about crossbills.

White Winged Crossbill (5:35) Red Crossbills (8:28) Flight Calls starting at (11:20) Cassia Crossbill (14:00).

A lot of the information I share come from the following articles.
