ദേശീയപണിമുടക്കിനിടെ സംസ്ഥാനത്ത് പലയിടത്തും അക്രമവും ഭീഷണിയും. ജോലിക്കെത്തിയ പലര്‍ക്കും മര്‍ദനമേറ്റു. ചിലരെ പൂട്ടിയിട്ടു. മുക്കത്ത് കട അടച്ചില്ലെങ്കില്‍ മണ്ണെണ്ണ ഒഴിക്കുമെന്ന് സിപിഎം നേതാവിന്‍റെ ഭീഷണി. പത്തനാപുരത്ത് മരുന്ന് വിതരണ ഗോഡൗണ്‍ പോലും തുറക്കാന്‍ അനുവദിച്ചില്ല. പൊലീസ് ഇടപെടലും കാര്യമായി ഉണ്ടായില്ല.
During the nationwide strike, there were incidents of violence and threats in many parts of the state. Several people who went to work were assaulted, and some were locked up. In Mukkam, a CPM leader allegedly threatened to pour kerosene if shops were not closed. In Pathanamthitta, even a medical distribution warehouse was not allowed to open. Police intervention was minimal.
