One cannot truly surrender without grieving the unexpected losses.

Have a positive expectancy because God’s word will not return to him void.

Surrender is the heart posture of Trust. Any time you are willing to give up what you want in order to pursue God’s will you are reaffirming your trust in him. There are plenty examples in the Bible where God blesses then he seems to take them away however there is always a ram in the bush or a glimmer of hope that he gives in return. Are you willing to exchange what you thought to be valuable to receive the true value of the Lord?

Surrender requires you to embrace vulnerable and often compromising situations and experiences. Preserving ourselves is the fastest way to disobedience and opposition to God. Self-preservation demands that we consult every decision with our fears first, in turn fear becomes our master. God requires faith and so does surrender. Remember there is no- thing we can do outside of Christ, (John 15:5) and that includes overcoming fear. Hiding behind your own man-made barriers will hinder your growth and becoming.

Take inventory on those "boundaries" and "vows" you made from trying to protect yourself from being hurt or embarrassed. Give those thoughts to God and allow him to renew your mind so that you can discern the good, acceptable and perfect will of God. (Romans 12:2)

Surrender is an important part of womanhood. The more we allow God to take the lead in our day-to-day decisions the easier life becomes. When you have lived in survival mode it's hard to trust God with the minor details of your life. Learning to surrender has been the life change that I've needed to embrace the new life God has for me. There is so much peace, hope, love, and joy on the other side of surrender. It caused me to stop fighting for survival and start living in divine alignment.
