• Shaolin Soccer - Review | You Couldn't Write It
    Jul 8 2025

You Couldn't Write It rolls on as we go to the other side of the world to watch and review Shaolin Soccer.

In a world where every movie must have a slow motion kung fu action scene, renegade wrtier/actor/director Stephen Chow's Shaolin Soccer ties the beautiful worlds of football and over the top whacky anime action together.

Featuring some of the best football we've seen so far, some of the funniest dialogue we've heard and far and away the most disgusting scene of the summer.

  • Kicking and Screaming - Review | You Couldn't Write It
    Jul 1 2025

Our summer of film reviews continues as we bring you the latest episode of You Couldn't Write It.

This week we're reviewing one of the most well known American Soccer movies of all time - Kicking and Screaming.

Will Ferrell isn't quite at the peak of his powers here but he seems to put it all together 45 minutes in to the film.

Mike Ditka steals the show with a genuinely great comedic performance.

What is it with Americans and running in a triangle shape during football films?

What the hell was going on with the referee and the coffee sub-plot?

  • Air Bud 3 - World Pup Review | You Couldn't Write It
    Jun 24 2025

It's the big one, the one you've all been waiting for. It's the Air Bud 3 World Pup review... we're so sorry.

Join us as we breakdown probably the worst film either of us have ever seen.

Bad lessons, unlikable characters, very little Air Bud, nonsense plotlines and an incredibly damaging cameo from the US Womens National Team.

Air Bud 3 has it all.

  • Ronaldo's Last Nations League, Yamal's Big Bright Shining Star, Tottenham Pull The Trigger
    Jun 10 2025

Rumours of Cristiano Ronaldo's demise have been greatly exaggerated as he lifted yet another trophy and scored yet another important goal, this time helping Portugal lift the 'coveted' Nations League title against rivals Spain.

Ronaldo just keeps going and just keeps scoring, and it must be becoming a bit of a headache for the Portugal team...or is it?

The starboy once again lit up the game as Lamine Yamal put his money where his mouth is once again by calling his shot and then taking it, this time with fellow Ballon Do'r candidate Dembelé in his sights.

He came, he saw, he conquered Europe. No Nonsense pod Hall of Famer Ange Postecoglu was officially sacked by Spurs after the last episode with his replacement Thomas Frank looking set to join the club. Is Frank doomed before he starts or do we just not know anything about anything?

We unveil the winner of our poll to decide which will be the first football film we review on the next episode.

  • PSG Finally Doué it, Man United Non Refundable World Tour, McTominay MVP, Absolutes Come True
    Jun 3 2025

You'd be forgiven for thinking a final with 5 goals and incredible performances was a classic Champions League final. But unfortunately for Inter Milan, it was a pummeling for the ages by PSG as they finally get over the European finish line.

As an Mbappé-less PSG win the Champions League, it's easy to forget that they are still the bad guys and this is probably not great for the sport as a whole.

We review our Absolutes and the season as we correctly predict the story of the summer - Spurs win a trophy and Ange is on the way out.

In one of the most doomed press tours of all time, Man United immediately got on the first plane to Asia after the season ended for a few more embarrassment to round off the season.

In contrast to the suffering Man United starboys, Scott McTominay is still out there partying in Napoli as the official Serie A MVP and newest club legend.

  • Palace Win FA Cup, The Henderson Game, Gary Lineker Gone, Europa League Final Preview
    May 20 2025

The year of the cup upsets continued as Crystal Palace won their first major trophy in their history beating Man City 1-0 in Wembley.

In a game with two big VAR calls that were both wrong, Dean Henderson was the star of the show both on and off the pitch.

What next for Man City and for Pep Guardiola as the fizzling out continues.

In a social media storm that you haven't heard about, Gary Lineker 'decided it was best' to step down from his role at the BBC after an accidental controversial emoji.
But really, this has been coming for quite some time.

We cast an eye toward one of the weirdest games of all time as Spurs take on Man United for a chance at Europa League glory, Champions League football and the right to say that wasn't one of the worst seasons in their entire history.

    May 12 2025

    CONGRATULATIONS WILL AND ORNA

That's right, everyone, it's a solo pod, just me and my hangover after one of the best weekends ever.

Arsenal and Liverpool played a friendly game with not an awful lot on the line for either team. The real story was Trent Alexander-Arnold being booed by the Anfield faithful as he was subbed on in the second half.

Nottingham Forest faces an uphill battle to secure Champo Leagueo next season, having looked nailed on for a top-three place all season. Forrest owner Marinakis decided to let Nuno Espirito Santo know all about how he felt. I discuss the fallout with a special guest.

Elsewhere in Europe, the fourth classic of the season took place with Real Madrid suffering another loss at the hands of Barcelona. Trent Alexander-Arnold will have his work cut out for him next year!
