    Sep 4 2025

This episode of 99 Adventures dives into one of the less glamorous—but essential—parts of RV life: keeping your black tank clean. Alan and Kim break down why proper maintenance matters, from preventing clogs and odors to keeping sensors accurate. They share day-to-day habits like using plenty of water, waiting until the tank is two-thirds full before dumping, and always using RV-safe toilet paper.

The takeaway? A little routine care keeps your black tank fresh, functional, and worry-free—making RV adventures much smoother.

Our home base at 99 Adventures sits near the epicenter of the July 4th flooding in the Texas Hill Country. It's a stark reminder of just how critical it is to have a GO BAG ready as part of any emergency preparedness plan. • 12. Work Camping Update
    Jun 19 2025

Alan is three weeks into his work camping gig. How’s it going? What have we learned? Would we do it again? We dive into all of that plus more on the latest episode of 99 Adventures.

    Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe🍪

Tried this chocolate chip cookie recipe and it is awesome. The recipe doesn’t call for browning the butter but tried it and what a difference it makes. It’s included in the recipe…

¾ cup butter, brown the butter for 5-8 minutes. As soon as you start to see a little bit of brown, take it off the burner ¾ cup granulated sugar 1 egg 1 tablespoon vanilla extract 1 ¾ cup all-purpose flour ½ teaspoon salt ¾ teaspoon baking soda ½ cup chocolate chips Preheat oven to 350 degrees fahrenheit and line baking sheet with parchment paper In a medium bowl combine flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside In a bowl combine browned butter and sugar mixing until light and fluffy (1-2 minutes) Add in egg and vanilla extract, and beat until just combined (do not over-mix) Mix in the dry ingredients until a dough forms. Cool the dough in the refrigerator before adding chocolate chips or add the chips immediately for a swirly look to the cookies Make 1.5 tablespoon sized balls and place them on the baking sheet (you can place the cookie sheet in the refrigerator for a couple of hours before baking) Bake the cookies for 8-11 minutes. Remove from the oven when the edges look set and have just begun to darken. The cookies will be under-baked. Let them sit on the baking sheet for 10 minutes, then transfer to a cooling rack to cool completely.
