Sono le voci di Alba de Céspedes (1911-1997), Maria Bellonci (1902-1986), Anna Banti (pseudonimo di Lucia Lopresti, 1895-1985) e Anna Garofalo (1903-1965). Le prime tre testimonianze sono tratte dal fascicolo speciale Processo al ’46 che la rivista «Mercurio» (diretta dalla stessa De Céspedes) dedicò agli eventi dell’anno nel suo ultimo numero del 1946. Quella di Anna Garofalo proviene da L’italiana in Italia, libro in cui raccolse i testi della sua rubrica radiofonica Parole di una donna, che aveva tenuto a cadenza regolare dal settembre 1944.
