About this listen
Lee Hampel’s Southern Wisconsin farm became ground zero for chilling paranormal activity. From strange footprints to the Beast of Bray Road. Southern Wisconsin holds more than rolling hills and scenic farms—sometimes it hides dark secrets.
When retired math teacher Lee Hampel purchased a quiet 35-acre farm outside Elkhorn, Wisconsin, he expected solitude, serenity, and wildlife—not a cryptid, glowing red eyes, and lost time. What unfolded over the next few years has stunned locals, baffled investigators, and drawn comparisons to the infamous Skinwalker Ranch in Utah. Could Wisconsin be home to its own paranormal hotspot?
Lee Hampel wasn't a ghost hunter or conspiracy theorist. He simply wanted a place to enjoy retirement and raise cattle. But shortly after purchasing the property in 2007, Hampel found himself entangled in a chilling mystery that blurred the line between reality and folklore. Unusual sightings, disturbing encounters, and one unforgettable run-in with the Beast of Bray Road would redefine his world. One evening, while driving near his property, Hampel encountered something terrifying. Two Reddish orange glowing eyes starred at him from a ditch line....Afterward later that night Lee got sick and experienced a loss of time of about an hour and a half. The creature Hampel saw wasn’t unknown. Locals had whispered about it for decades. The Beast of Bray Road was first reported in the 1930s, described as a werewolf-like creature stalking rural roads. Linda Godfrey, an author and journalist, has documented over a hundred sightings in southeastern Wisconsin. Hampel’s encounter fits right in.parisons to Skinwalker Ranch Paranormal enthusiasts quickly drew parallels to Utah’s Skinwalker Ranch. Both locations reported: Mysterious creatures Strange lights and electromagnetic interference Animal mutilations Unexplained illnesses The similarities raised eyebrows and interest from serious investigators. Hampel’s story has been featured in: Monsters and Mysteries in America Expedition X Numerous YouTube documentaries and podcasts Lee's links: https://www.facebook.com/lee.hampel
