聖經寫到:“亞蘭王的元帥乃縵在他主人面前為尊為大，因耶和華曾藉他使亞蘭人得勝。他又是大能的勇士，只是長了大麻風。”乃縵將軍是把他的國家拯救出危機最重要的英雄。所以，即使他沒有國王的名義，實際上卻受到了國王的待遇。乃縵將軍擁有他想要的一切，但他卻患上了麻風病。麻風病在當時是一種不治之症，所以乃縵染上麻風病意味著他不久死亡。因此，乃縵正面臨他人生最大的挑戰。
