Marie en Irene Curie belandden een tiental keer in de Westhoek tijdens Wereldoorlog I. Vorige keer hadden we vooral aandacht voor hun bezoeken aan Veurne en Poperinge.
Deze keer ronden we hun bezoeken af, bekijken we de impact van hun Belgische oorlogservaringen op bijvoorbeeld het Belgische Radium, gaan we dieper in om ene Solvay en kijken we ook eens naar wat je nog aan verhalen uit WO I mag verwachten of reeds gekregen hebt.
Het blijft een verbazing hoe veel aspecten er aan deze "Groote Oorlog" gekoppeld zijn, en hoe onze provincie en bijgevolg het hele land in de kijker komt.
