The restoration story of salvation is new. It is not found in the scriptures except for what Joseph Smith put out as a revelation. The Book of Mormon has a different explanation of salvation and what we need to do here and now to obtain it. It is a tremendous difference. What do we choose to believe? What do we do when restoration scriptures have discrepancy? We choose to believe the Book of Mormon.
