About this listen

Sarah Ticho is a serial founder, curator, researcher and international speaker specialising in arts, health and immersive technology. She is the founder of Hatsumi (which means to see for the first time). They develop work at the intersection of immersive technology, participatory art, and storytelling to improve physical and mental health. They're the creators behind BodyMap, a creative participatory tool created to help people communicate and understand the embodied experience of pain and emotion using 3D drawing and sound.

In this episode we discussed:

  • How virtual reality can be used in end of life
  • Forest of Serenity by Sir David Attenborough
  • Using embodied technologies to tell stories through art

"We've been looking at using VR to communicate pain with clinicians, for patients to use in the waiting room before they see the doctor. Its a better way of communicating what's going on for them." - Sarah Ticho
