Als Rainer Kersten, so lautet sein bürgerlicher Name, absolvierte er Mitte der 80er Jahre die Ausbildung zum Polizeivollzugsbeamten im damaligen Bundesgrenzschutz. 1992 führte ihn sein beruflicher Werdegang zur Antiterroreinheit GSG 9. Wer hier zum Einsatz kommt, muss aus einem sehr besonderen Holz geschnitzt sein: Terrorbekämpfung, Bombenentschärfung, Geiselbefreiung, Schwerst- und Gewaltkriminalität gehören zur Tagesordnung.
