About this listen

Episode 204!? This week we are giving our thoughts on "Superman / Madman Hullabaloo"! The Man of Steel meets the Man of Madness as two of comics' most unique and revolutionary heroes crossover (and how!). In each of their respective universes, Superman and Madman are involved in scientific experiments, the results of which propel the unsuspecting superbeings into one another's worlds. The only thing is, each takes half of the other with him -- creating two confused heroes and one big Hullabaloo! Co-published with DC Comics. In their discussion, they note how this unique crossover between the characters Superman and Madman creates an intriguing and humorous storyline. They give the artwork a mixed review, praising the depictions of the characters while critiquing certain scenes for lack of contrast and for seeming too rushed. In regards to the plot, they highlight its unpredictability and blend of serious and silly moments. While the comic seems to play it safe due to the inclusion of prominent DC figure, Superman, Lex and Simon commend the comic for its fun and 'low stakes' approach to the narrative. 00:00 Introduction and Podcast Overview 00:24 Reviewing Superman, Madman, Hullabaloo 00:46 Discussing Madman's Character and Comic Book World 01:43 First Impressions of Superman, Madman, Hullabaloo 03:13 Diving into Issue Summaries 05:33 Exploring Madman's Powers and Backstory 08:32 Discussing the Crossover and Character Mix 16:06 Break and Casual Conversation 16:17 Continuing with Issue Summaries 37:33 Final Thoughts and Review 05:38 Wrapping Up and Podcast Closing Sign up for our newsletter! https://mailchi.mp/39f44a9e9866/newsletter Join our discord and help us build the community! https://discord.gg/EUtHXHjJWF Support The Wednesday Pull List! https://www.patreon.com/wednesdaypull Learn more about your ad choices.
