「五島列島」

九州の最西端にあり、長崎港から100km西部に位置する、
大小150余りの島々からなる群島です。
福江島、久賀島、奈留島、若松島、中通島など、五つの島を中心に構成されています。
人口はおよそ31,000人。東シナ海に面しており、豊かな漁場や観光資源があります。
日本屈指の椿の群生地で、椿油の生産や、それらを使った商品開発が行われています。
「長崎と天草地方の潜伏キリシタン関連遺産」として、
世界遺産に登録された教会や集落があります。
