「答志島」

三重県鳥羽市に属し、
鳥羽港から北東約2.5kmの沖合に位置する伊勢湾最大の離島です。
面積は約7平方キロメートル。3つの集落があり、およそ1,800人が暮らしています。
島民の多くが漁業に従事しており、海女によるアワビ・サザエ・ワカメの採集が盛ん。
海上安全や大漁を祈願する祭りや、寝屋子制度などの古い慣習が残ります。
戦国時代に水軍を率いていた九鬼嘉隆（くきよしたか）にまつわる史跡があります。
