About this listen

In this 50 for 50, Patrick Parson shares about the connection between Sycamore View Church and Memphis nonprofit HopeWorks. HopeWorks, Inc. is a nonprofit organization that seeks to serve the poor through outreach programs that develop individual worth, encourage personal responsibility and promote the honor and value of work. By implementing a holistic approach through daily classes and meals, educational training and spiritual counseling, HopeWorks strives to break the cycle of poverty, addiction and chronic unemployment in the city of Memphis. Our church helps this incredible ministry by providing financial resources, food, and volunteering.
In 2028, Sycamore View Church will turn 50 years old, and we want to do this right. We want to use the next few years as a season of reflection and preparation: reflection concerning all God has done through this church and preparation for God’s future here. So we’re launching what we’re calling “50 for 50.” Telling fifty stories. Over fifty months. Celebrating fifty years.

At the beginning of every month until the spring of 2028, we will release a new story celebrating events, ministries, people, and risks, all in attempt to honor ways God has shaped and formed this church.
