「利尻島」

北海道の北部、日本海上に浮かぶ、稚内市から約52km離れた小さな島です。
周囲は約60km、約5,000人が暮らしています。
島のシンボルで別名利尻富士とも呼ばれる利尻山は標高1721m。

日本百名山百選では北の秀峰として1番目に数えられています。
島のほとんどが「利尻礼文サロベツ国立公園」として国立公園に指定されています。
ウニや昆布などの水産資源が豊富で、特に利尻昆布は高級品として全国的に有名です。

今回の“たびことば”は、「めえめえ」
