About this listen

In Today’s Show – A Civic Celebration

On today’s episode, we welcome a very special trio to the 1230 TWC Business Beat:

Cllr Jonathan Andrews, Mayor of Bromley

Mayoress Theresa Andrews

Peter Dunn, Attendant to the Mayor

Jonathan Andrews is making history as Bromley’s youngest-ever Mayor for the civic year 2025–26. Born, educated, and still living in the borough he represents, Jonathan’s roots in Bromley run deep. He proudly serves Darwin ward – where his grandparents have lived for over 50 years – and, outside his mayoral duties, is a qualified solicitor.

His chosen charities for the year are:

CASPA – supporting autistic people across Bromley

The Maypole Project – providing emotional support for children with complex medical needs and their families.

The Mayor’s Role – More Than Just Ceremonial

We’ll be exploring what the mayoralty means in a local context, why the position still matters, and how it helps strengthen the community. Jonathan shares his experiences from countless visits to community and charity events, where he meets volunteers, entrepreneurs, and local heroes who keep Bromley thriving.

Interview Highlights:

Why is the Mayor’s role important locally?

Stand-out moments from events and community visits.

Spotlight on his chosen charities – and how listeners can help.
