末藤の初回派遣地は90万人のロヒンギャ難民が身を寄せるバングラデシュ。2018年のことだった。当時で最大規模のプロジェクトの一員として、次々と到着・帰国する海外派遣スタッフの渡航手配を一手に引き受ける役割を担う。懸命に生き抜く難民の姿を目の当たりにし、志を共にする多くの仲間たちに出会い、医療人道援助の意義を深く心に刻んだ。


2023年、プロジェクトのリーダーとして内戦下のスーダンへ。戦闘の最前線と化した首都ハルツームの病院で、末藤は最小限の人員と資源で活動の継続を決意。末藤はどうやって、迫りくる戦闘と武装勢力から病院を守ることができたのか。
