Growing up in Saudi Arabia, Hanan was always made feel different due to her Somali heritage. But with a civil war raging back home, her family had nowhere else to go. After eventually being granted asylum in Ireland, she followed her dreams of becoming a filmmaker, and now works to document the culture and heritage of her homeland.
