About this listen

Hello everyone, and welcome to my first ever podcast episode! I am so excited to be here today, February 13th, 2023, marking my one year anniversary in business. It's been a long time coming, and I am beyond grateful for this opportunity to connect with you all.

My name is Sarah, and I am a 24 year old beauty professional originally from Long Island, New York. I moved to Florida when I was 16 and completed my associate's degree at Florida Gulf Coast University. College was a bit of a challenge for me, but I ended up finding my passion in beauty services after a gap semester. I obtained my nail tech and esthetician licenses and even learned how to do spray tans.

However, my journey wasn't without its difficulties. I experienced trauma and ended up developing PTSD, which led to a lot of emotional and physical struggles. But through it all, I found solace in performing beauty services and giving my clients confidence and inspiration.

I leased a storefront with four rooms - a reception area, nail and makeup room, spray tan room, and esthetics room. My dad and I worked hard to renovate the space and make it beautiful, but I faced some safety issues shortly after opening. Despite the challenges, I pushed through and continued to grow my business.

I am thrilled to start this podcast and share my journey with you all. I hope to check in with you monthly and interview other beauty professionals to bring up important topics in the industry. I will be releasing two new episodes a month, so be sure to tune in!
