About this listen
Note the distinction: This is 14 parts to one episode. E1 = 01a, E2 = 01b, E3 = 01c, etc., all the way until E14 = 01n. I'll do this for all multi-part episodes, essentially mini-series/mini-docs. So far, I intend that to be just episodes 1 (1-14) and 2 (15 to idk yet. I'll update this when I know for sure).

Hello everybody! Welcome to what is now The Everlasting French Journey, and we've got a treat to start us off. I believe to truly master a language and understand its many quirks, you need to know the history behind it first. Hence why I made this first episode to focus on the HISTORY of France and the French language instead of just the French language in general, like other French podcasts. This'll be a 14-part mini-series. This "episode" is part 1, which will cover the Massalians and the Gauls, the two ancient peoples of France. This includes the Greek beginnings of France, as well as those indomitable Gauls from up north and their early conflicts with Rome.
Intro (0:00-4:13)
S1: A Greek Beginning (4:13-11:30, 20:02-21:11) - The Massalians and the history of their colony and culture
TC1: The Strange Northward Voyage of Pytheas (11:30-20:02) - Pytheas's voyage to the British Isles
S2: Those Indomitable Warriors (21:11-39:51) - The History of the Gauls before the Gallic Wars
TC2: A Very Strange Calendar (39:51-52:15) - The Coligny/Gaulish Calendar
Outro (52:16-53:00)
