About this listen
In this episode, we learn about the value of acknowledging neurodiversity in children and accepting them for who they are. Neurodiversity is evident along a spectrum, and sometimes people do not fit into the image or box that society has in mind. It is important to pay attention to your child’s behaviors and encourage them to be creative in areas in which they excel, greatly contributing to their growth and success. After we ended the recording, Jaclyn further stressed the importance of "gaze following" at ~9 months as a major element to look for when you are considering if your child might be neurodivergent. If you're not seeing that by 9 months, raise the question of a delay with your child's primary caregiver.
