克美しげるは1960年代に歌手デビューし、「エイトマン」や「さすらい」などの曲がヒットし、紅白歌合戦にも出場した。
しかし1970年代になると人気が低迷し、ギャンブルなどで借金を作るようになる。
その頃、克美を金銭面で支えていたのは銀座のホステスである愛人であった。
そんな愛人にさらなる借金をするために妻がいるのも関わらず、愛人の実家に結婚の挨拶に行ったり、結婚写真を撮影するなどしました克美。
そして、低迷した人気を復活させるためのカムバックキャンペーンに出かける前日、愛人を◯害し、その◯体を車のトランクに入れ、飛行場の駐車場に置いたまま、北海道キャンペーンに向かいました。
