Publisher's Summary

From HiJinks Ink Publishing and Shannon Mayer comes Windburn (Book Four) in The USA Today best-selling Elemental series. With over one million books sold, Shannon Mayer proves once again she can dominate her genre right out of the gate.

"My name is Larkspur, and I am an Elemental."

My people use the power of the earth to sustain life and defy our enemies. I should be at my father's side as a royal princess. But as a half-breed, bastard child, that isn't going to happen.

The King is missing and his mind is cracked. It is up to me to find him before the Rim is taken over by the bloodthirsty heir to the throne.

But the path to finding the King is anything but straight, and I find myself in the human world facing possible banishment. All to find a Tracker who happens to be on the run from a demon, yet she is my only hope in bringing my father home.

Nothing is as it seems and I'm uncertain who is friend or foe. My impending punishment threatens to suffocate me as I defy our laws and fight to bring peace to my home...and fight to keep those I love the dearest alive.

How will I get both my father and I out of this one unscathed? Welcome to being The Chosen One.

Book four in the series caused me to shed many tears.

No matter how many times Larkspur saves the day or her loved ones, she is denied happiness for herself. This book was very sad for me. Lark above all deserves to have a happy stable existence with Ash.

Incredible character development!

While on a search for her father, Larkspur actually discovers herself. Windburn feels like the perfect fourth book for the series. This book still has the drama, twist, and intensity that we have come to expect from the series. While not as action packed as the first 3 in the series, the character development and insight of Larksurp and Cactus make up for it. For the first time, Larkspur is taking control of her own destiny and I LOVE IT!

Of Elementals and Man

Book 4 of The Elemental Series is another great read. Following the adventures of Larkspur the Elemental on her journey to rescue her father, The King. This story picks up where Book 3 left off and it's non-stop action from the first page.
Lark faces banishment from her home if she continues on her quest. Life is never easy for our heroine but you can expect her to do what is right. Throw in some demons, a Tracker and more Elementals and you get a wild ride that can't help but be stormy.

Awesome book!!!

Lark is one of my favorites. She keeps getting stronger and is so resilient. She keeps trying to help her loved ones but only gets shit for doing everything that she has done. Only a select few stand beside her. I love Lark and Peta's relationship. So many twists and turns makes it hard to stop listening to this book/series. I need to know what happens. I definitely need more of Ash! Cant wait to start the next book not sure why I have not read/listened to this book sooner. As with the whole series Lauren Fortgang has done a fabulous job. I love listening to her!

Poor Lark!

There is a lot to say, yet, I don’t know how to say it. The amount of crazy that fills this book is mind boggling. On one hand you have the Lark and Cactus want to be love fest. The Lark and Ash full on love feat and in the middle of this, Lark is on the hunt for her father. Honestly, I’m not sure why. He’s kind of a dick.

But, the King must be found. In the hunt for her father Lark finds trouble, which is nothing new. The poor girl is all about trouble and sticking her foot into it.

Casava and Blackbird though... sweet baby Jesus in a manger, I’m just over them. I may have sang the witch is dead when that battle was over.

I’m seriously not a fan of this Mother Goddess of theirs. She seems to be at the start and end of all the trouble coming Larks way. Sneaky heifer.

Onto the next book...

Enjoyable

I listened to the audible book and it was amazing. It felt like I was along for the ride beside Larkspur. So much happened in this book that I was amazed by it. Onto the next book to see what happens next.

I love this series, it's a winner!

I am finally starting to understand all of the different elements and how they work it is a very intriging storyline! I bought all of the series up to the 6th one "ASH" I really tried to listen to it because I bought it by mistake not realizing it was a completely different story and narrator but it was just too confusing trying to keep up with Ash's version and the series itself so I returned it and moved to this 7th series. Not saying it was bad it's just too much for my Lyme brain to handle!
