About this listen
Wigpunk is an eighteenth century vision of the future.
The year is 1790, and the world of 1990 is imagined by Archie Archibald. It is a world of steamhorses, steamsnakes, steam whales, and steamhawks. The brightly painted towns are connected by rails and cobblestone highways. The inhabitants of these towns live in colourful dwellings, work in colourful industrial mills and everyone wears a brightly coloured wig. The fields are grazed by hideous but meaty oversized cattle, and the corn is cut with clockwork sickles.
The alternative 1990 of Wigpunk is stranger and more vibrant than the real thing.
