Publisher's Summary

The Vatican is broken.... And Callie’s hearing whispers in the dark corners of her mind....

One of the Vatican’s most infamous Shepherds has been murdered, and Callie’s friends are the prime suspects. To prove them innocent, Roland and Callie must risk their very souls....

Because Callie can’t reveal that she’s hearing strange whispers when she uses her magic, or that she’s harboring an Angel’s Grace. And if the Shepherds discover the hellish bargain Roland made, the streets of Rome will flow with blood as brother turns against brother.

And with the Antipope pressuring the Vatican for change, and Nate Temple arriving unannounced to demand an audience with the Shepherds, things couldn’t get any more chaotic.

Until Callie learns of an ancient order of traitors hiding in the Vatican, and they’ll do anything to bring it down - brick by brick.

The only way to find the traitor, keep her secrets, and save those she loves is to raise her blade against these holy warriors of God, shattering the Vatican itself.

And the whispers in her head find all of this so terribly...amusing.

If you like Patricia Briggs, Ilona Andrews, Linsey Hall, McKenzie Hunter, or Ella Summers, you will love the third installment of the Feathers and Fire series.

Really bad narrator.

I'm glad the next book is read by one of my favourite narrators. The narrator is the reason why I didn't listen to the first two books but read the ebooks. She can't even pronounce Nephilim. Trying to enjoy the story but the voice is terrible.

Over exaggerating

The story is great but the way the narrator over exaggerates Callie’s voice with emotions that don’t fit in places and she’s awful at some of the other characters.. not a fan of her.. Callie I love.. but the narrator almost makes her seem like an annoying brat at times the way reads her.. just my opinion though

fantastic book

Love the story. A lot of cliches in the book if you know what to look for. Narrator managed to slip past the tween sensation on this one which was a major step up to the book.

Feathers and Fire and the Temple Chronicles had me hooked pretty quick. Funny, witty, mysterious and magical. I would definitely put on the read or listen to list.

Great story finally

I don’t know if it’s just the reader or recording is skipping pages or paragraphs or important information, but it seems like all of the Nate Temple/Callie Penrose stories have gaps that should be filled in.
With that being said, this story was by far the best in the Temple/Penrose storylines. (I’ve read all Temples up to Horseman and the first two Penrose books.)

Another Home Run!

Another great addition to the growing Temple Universe! Callie is a straight bad a@& character! Do yourself a favor and start with book 1 if you haven't tried the series yet, you wont be disappointed!
One small con- While Mrs Sage is a great narrator, I think she sounds too sweet and young. I dont think I'm explaining it right, but I just dont feel the fit with Callie. Anyway, enjoy!

Fast, Fun and Entertaining

Mr Silvers writes with a particular style that some might not like, but I do. Dark humour, fast paced stories and rounded characters.

Another gripping installment

Can't get enough of the Templeverse and Whispers has left me wanting even more.
The plot was compelling, leaving me always wanting to listen to a little bit more and the addition of a new group of players towards the end have left me wanting to start the 4th book as soon as possible. Always enjoy Shayne Silvers writing and I can't recommend his works enough.
