My name is Nate Temple, and I’m secretly a wizard. I ride a foul-mouthed unicorn, I drink with Achilles, and I’m pals with the Four Horsemen. I’ve even cow-tipped the Minotaur. I understand the theory of following the rules...I’m just not very good at the application. Because rules were meant to be broken, and St. Louis has a bit of a supernatural infestation these days. Someone should probably be keeping an eye on these things -and probably an eye on me, too. Before I blow up another building...or three.

Story
Despite his recent victories, Nate Temple’s problems are only just beginning. Although it had been necessary, killing the most infamous of the Norse gods has consequences, and no one knows petty vengeance like the Aesir. Especially with Odin’s legendary spear mysteriously missing. But Nate has more important things to worry about than a pantheon of angry gods. Because the God of Mischief has been freed from his imprisonment, and so has his monstrosity of a son - a creature prophesied to play a major role in Ragnarok.

Two old dudes want to kill me. Oh, and one of them is my ancestor.... And after centuries of practice, they’re pretty good at the whole murder thing. But at least they want to kill each other just as badly. Now, I’ve taken down a Greek goddess, worn a Horseman’s mask, and I ride a homicidal unicorn who hates rainbows with a passion. Some might say sending two senior citizens to a permanent retirement home should be a breeze. It ain’t. Because that’s not my biggest concern. One of my friends is in danger, or possibly dying, and I need to get her back before her fiancé kills me.

Story
Abductions rarely go as planned...but this is just ridiculous. Torn from the Faeling games on the beaches of Scotland, Quinn MacKenna suddenly finds herself doggie-paddling in a turbulent sea of blood with no land in sight. And that’s the highlight of her day so far, because her abductors seem perfectly content to simply leave her in this strange Otherworld. Quinn must fight tooth and nail to unearth answers about herself and her place in the worlds of both Man and Fae...even if that means losing herself, first.

What’s a goddess to do? After being lost at sea and taken prisoner by yet another denizen of the Titan realm, Quinn finds herself cold, wet, miserable, and very much alone. Until a familiar and unexpected face steps back into her life to remind her who she is - and has always - been: A fighter. Following this revelation, Quinn can only acknowledge that some journeys require circuitous routes, even if that means attaining her freedom and rushing - not to the rescue of her besieged allies - but to the mythical island of Aeaea, home to the infamous witch, Circe.

Excellent
This is a great story. Great narrator. I love these books. My only complaint is every time a fight comes up we have to hear a lot about what she is thinking before the fight starts. Let’s get on with the fight and then tell me what she was thinking. But a lot of writers do this. I definitely wouldn’t miss this story because of it. Can’t wait to hear everything else from the author and narrator. Great job!!!!!

Well, I haven’t been able to function right and I feel this on purpose. So, sorry, not sorry, I have another book to listen to. I am listening/ reading in chronological order, therefore some of the cliffhangers absolutely killed me. But I have been staying strong. Now, I need to check my list, cause Callie sucked me in and I want to hear what troubles she can get into next

Same review as 1-3
I was new to this author so I was unfamiliar with his writing style. I went all in getting the series 1-3 and 4-6. I enjoy going in order and soaking it all in. Just a little something about this series, it apparently intertwines with his other books... who knew. Yes, they could be stand alone novels if you accept all of the private jokes you aren’t in on. All of the friendships made without you and fun / crazy times where you were left at home for even though you were here for every book in Callie’s story. This irked me. But I like order and completeness hence getting all 6 books at once. She apparently had tons of side stuff happened that I wasn’t privileged to. That being said it is a cool storyline. I love the narrator Nicole Poole one of the reasons I went all in. I feel incomplete after finishing book 6 because I still don’t have all of the information. I’d like to start at the beginning of this author’s work and listen to everything in order to gain perspective. Callie goes from never doing certain things to hey something happened to change her but nope not in this book kind of personality changes. Don’t get me started on Roland... but it is a good series. It’s just seemly part of a much bigger storyline. One I hope to enjoy in order

Very Surprised
I will be honest i almost gave up on this series about two chapters in. The narration was turning me off big time. But I hate to start a book and not finish so I stuck with it. I am so glad that I did because this series is amazing. The characters are well fleshed out and the story is very compelling. I even warmed to the narrator as the story unfolded. Another note about the characters, I was surprised to find that well known figures from myth and religion show up and they fit well into the story line. I highly recommend this to any fantasy fan
