About this listen
The small town of Maplewood buzzed with excitement as Halloween night approached. The streets were lined with glowing jack-o’-lanterns, fake cobwebs, and flickering lights. At the end of Birch Lane stood an old mansion, abandoned for years, rumored to be haunted. Sam and his best friends, Mia and Oliver, had always loved Halloween. They spent weeks planning their costumes and dreaming up tricks and treats. But this year, things felt different. A challenge was issued by the neighborhood kids: whoever could spend an hour inside the mansion on Halloween night would earn bragging rights for the entire year.
