About this listen
What are the attitudes and actions that make great principals stand out? In this internationally renowned bestseller, Todd Whitaker reveals the 20 keys to effective school leadership. This essential third edition features helpful new strategies for recruiting talent through better interview and reference questions, as well as tips for retaining talent. It also offers a new section on how leadership is not an event, but rather requires a consistent approach to affect the climate and eventually shape the culture of your school.
Perfect for new and experienced principals, for independent professional listening or for leadership courses, this practical book will leave you feeling inspired and ready to do the things that matter most for the people who ultimately matter most—the students.

"Even the most seasoned school principal will find Whitaker’s practical and intuitive approach to leadership useful in the best of times, but also it will help steer them as they lead through the worst.... Without distilling the incredible importance and challenge of leading a school division or building, [Whitaker] also sets out a clear and understandable path to success and demystifies some of the unique aspects of school leadership. Any new or experienced school leader will find value, reinforcement, and solid advice within."—Becky Johnson, MiddleWeb Review

Same book as what great teachers do differently
Whole slabs of this book were exactly the same as his other book about great teachers. There was no point in listening to this as I had already listened to the other book. Someone needs to tell him that plagiarism applies to your own work as well as to the work of others. Very disappointing.
