في كتابه "رحلة إلى ماليزيا" يؤكد الدكتور طارق البكري على أنّ لديه الكثير الكثير ليقوله للأطفالِ ولليافعين، فيأتينا بجديد يدهِشُ الكبار قبل الصغارِ، وما يكتبه ليس من بابِ التّسلِيَةِ فقط، بل يحمل في ثناياه قيمًا تربوية وتعليميةً، فنجد روايتُه هذه تعجُّ بقيمٍ ايجابية جاءت من خلالِ القص المشوّق دون مباشرة أو خطابيّة، ممّا يرسخها في ذهن القارئ المتلقي بيسرٍ وسهولة.

كما أن الروايةَ تعلم مُتلقيها أهميةّ التسامح وأدب الاعتذار عن الخطأَ والاستئذان عند الحديث، وآداب الطّريق، واحترام تراث الآباء والأجداد، وتلفت الرواية الانتباه إلى أهمية الرحلات الداخلية .

واللافت أيضًا في هذه الرواية أنَّ صاحبها قد روى عدّة حكايات وقصص وحبكها مع بعضها البعض بسلاسة فائقة لتشكّل رواية متكاملة.
