I could not work out why I was ripped out of my imagination every time it was Nadirs chapters until I realised Lors chapters are done in 1st person and Nadirs done in 3rd person and I absolutely could not get past it.

Also the two narrators pronounced some of the character names differently. is the Aurora King Rion or Ryan...???

This could be a great series but I honestly can't bring myself to continue, who edited the narration, because they need some support next time.

Both POVs need to be first person...

It took a little while to get into this book, but it ended up being a fun and easy listen.

It was quite a raw listen... slight spoiler, if you can't listen to traumatic experiences best not to go further. It took me awhile to get myself around it and once moved past it, saw the story progress. Worth following it through to the end, looking forward to listening to the next book and see where MC's story leads.

it's a good story after 'reading' all the SJM books, Blood and Ash, and fourth wing series. Kept me listening enough. Female lead is too whiny and scared for someone who did everything they could to survive in a prison. I paused and thought for a while when she mentioned 'tissue', it didn't seem to fit her character and her world.
Narrators were not good though. Female was too slow. Male was too breathy I couldn't understand so many sentences. It's ok.

The storyline was curvy and twisted. Hints of smut, yet, tasteful. Loved every bit. Strong recommendation to those want strong female characters and enemies to lovers.

🤩this was such a great story, can’t wait to read the next. The character Lore has been written great. The voices that were chosen was why I didn’t give it a full score. I would have chosen different voices for the characters.

I really wanted to like this one, and it had potential but the narration was really hard to listen to, it was genuinely cringy. I also concur with other reviews that mentioned it feels like a mix of other popular fae books, nothing ground breaking, felt predictable and if I’m honest the characters felt a bit one dimensional. Not terrible but there are plenty of better reads in the genre.
