Publisher's Summary

A courageous, life-changing memoir that teaches us to apply the lessons learned by those nearing their death to our own life.

After too many years of unfulfilling work, Bronnie Ware began searching for a job with meaning. Despite having no formal qualifications or experience, she found herself working in palliative care.

During the time she spent tending to the needs of those who were dying, Bronnie's life was transformed. Later, she wrote an Internet blog post about the most common regrets that the people she had cared for had expressed to her. The post, also called 'The Top Five Regrets of the Dying', gained so much momentum that it was viewed by more than three million people worldwide in its first year. At the request of many, Bronnie now shares her personal story.

Bronnie has had a colourful and diverse life. By applying the lessons of those nearing their death to her own life, she developed an understanding that it is possible for everyone, if they make conscious choices, to die with peace of mind. In this heartfelt retelling, Bronnie expresses the significance of these regrets. She explains how we can address these issues positively now, while we still have the time.

The Top Five Regrets of the Dying: A Life Transformed by the Dearly Departing gives hope for a better world. Bronnie's delightful memoir is a courageous, life-changing book that will leave you feeling more compassionate and inspired to live the life you are truly here to live.

Thought Provoking

I really enjoyed this thought provoking book dealing with a subject matter rarely discussed in society. I wanted an insight into a world my hubby often deals with as a Pastor, often praying for those dying or left holding their hand as they take their last breath. Thank you Bronnie for teaching us how to be kind and non judgemental. Your life lessons are valuable.

Thought provoking

Great content and message! Whilst the book was a little too “hippie” to be totally relatable, I did enjoy being able to contrast those extremely strong view points against my own. Definitely made me rethink my life and what I am doing in it.

inspiring stories

If you could sum up The Top Five Regrets of the Dying in three words, what would they be?

I loved listening to Bronnie's stories , they all tied in well with the title and exemplified well the points she was putting a cross

Any additional comments?

The book was certainly thought provoking. A small critisism was that I found her voice not the easiest to listen too

Ok book

Ok book - more of an autobiography of the author with a lot of irrelevant information and stories. I was thinking it was more of a dive into the top five regrets of the dying, which seemed to be only a small part of the book.

Just google a summary instead

Dont buy this book if you just want to know the top five regrets of the dying! The author uses much of the the book to describe her own life experiences at tedious length mixed with her own pocket philosophy and new age bla bla. This is not what I expected. I want my money back.

More About Her Life Than the Dying

The book's title is a bit deceptive. It's really about her journey as a caretaker in the persons she ran across. While her sample size is larger than most people would have, it's far from a scientific study. Nonetheless the points are well-made, and it's hard to argue with some of her conclusions.

Yeah but what about those five regrets again?

Reads too much like an autobiography of the author versus being focused on the individuals dying with wisdom to share.

Disappointing

Base on the title, I was anxious to read this book, especially since a close family member has terminal cancer. But I bailed out a few chapters into it. The author rambles from her solo travels, to her diet, to her relationship with her mother, etc. I would have preferred that she just get to the point. Could have been a concise, easy, impactful read. Unfortunately, that is not what it is.

The book was just too long!

This book is more of a memoir than a deep study on the top five regrets of the dying. I expected to be inspired but I ended up listening to stories non-stop. Can’t finish the book. Had to return it.

Get this book in your life before it is too late!

What an emotional rollercoaster. I think Bronnie has done her "patients" proud, she has passed on what they wanted the world to know and what a great messenger she is! The messages are so strong in this book, the supporting stories increase the impact of the words greatly. Bronnie seems like a completely enlightened person, certainly a spirit making the most if her human experience, which I think adds even more impact to the words. I think this book would be of great value to everyone. We could all learn a lot from Bronnie and a lot from those that have died...

I loved this audio book - a journey

A lovely story of the journey a caring and kind soul took to make others comfortable in their final days - but what they shared is what will put your life in to context. Material things are pointless, what others think is a wase of energy. Will listen to this book again I am sure.

Saint on earth?

The concept was good, BUT I was not expecting so much about the author and so relatively little about the subjects. More a memoir and an entirely flattering one. So much goodness I found a little difficult to digest.

Should be on the National Curriculum

I would recommend this book to EVERYONE, it really should be a book that is studied in secondary schools introducing young adults to these ways of thinking from an early age. It’s such a truly inspirational book, written with true heart, soul, compassion and complete authenticity, and so lovely to have the author herself read the story. Love and light to her for the courage and beauty of sharing all of her experiences with us ❤️

Beautiful and inspirational

I just finished listening to this very gentle and very empowering book and feel truly blessed to have been able to come across it. Bronnie is very honest and true, it comes out of every sentence, it’s in her voice. Her message is inspirational and encouraging to all of us to give our best now and cherish the gift of life as a platform for us to learn what truly counts.
